Canada VacationsShort Reviews On Resorts & Hotels In Edmonton, Canada

Edmonton is the second largest city in the Canadian province Alberta, located in the southwestern part of the country. Tourist industry is very well developed, with plenty of hotels and properties for rent awaiting on travelers, because the area is a famous cultural and educational center, which is also known for the festivals that are being organized all year long and thus it has earned the local nickname "The Festival City". Edmonton is the most northerly situated metropolitan city in North America, lying in the Saskatchewan River valley, and the river itself passes through the city, creating some spectacular sceneries. Edmonton's surrounding relief is generally flat and although the Canadian Rockies are just a couple of hundred kilometers away, they still remain too far to be seen from the city itself.

Edmonton's downtown area hosts some of the most luxurious hotels due to the fact there are many business centers in vicinity like the Shaw Conference Centre, as well as the most visited museums, theaters and art galleries. One great place to stay when in Edmonton is the Crowne Plaza Chateau Lacombe Hotel. This four star residence would certainly make any stay the most pleasant possible with its 307 beautifully furnished rooms, offering all the amenities a guest may think of. The hotel is suitable for any type of vacation or business trip as it has a fully equipped business center, exquisite restaurant and stunning views from the 24th floor "Reflections Lounge". In the same city area, visitors may choose to stay in the Delta Edmonton Centre Suite Hotel or the Sutton Place Hotel Edmonton, which both offer top-notch service and lodging amenities.

Edmonton, as any other metropolitan city, offers a wide variety of budget accommodation options. Such a place is the Howard Johnson Hotel, which is located in immediate vicinity of the North America's largest mall. It offers its guests a large meeting room, free high speed Internet connection, fine restaurant and many more convenient services. Another possible choice would be the Chateau Motel, which provides all the previously mentioned amenities plus complimentary coffee, non-smoking rooms and unlike most hotels allows pets. The Chateau Motel is 25 minutes away from downtown Edmonton and very near the "University of Alberta South Campus". Similar lodgment options are the Sandman Edmonton West Hotel and the Days Inn Downtown Edmonton Hotel, which may be the best choice for budget stays right in the heart of Edmonton.

The climate in Edmonton's area is in general dry with big seasonal temperatures differences - warm summers and cold winters, whereas there are short springs and autumns. For those that prefer warmer weather, probably the best time for a sojourn in hotels in Edmonton would be during the summer, which lasts from June to August. There is so much to entertain in Edmonton, beginning with the more than seventy museums among which are the "Art Gallery of Alberta" and the "Telus World of Science", both housed by impressive buildings, there are music centers and concert halls such as "Francis Winspear Center for Music", home to the "Edmonton Symphony Orchestra" and ending with the trendy nightclub, fashionable restaurants and cozy pubs.
